On their mission to win their maiden IPL trophy, the Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t make a lot of noise during the 2023 IPL auction, because they had a low spend purse. Their aim was to simply save for a contingency goal and was a full-fledged success in doing so. Their largest investment was Will Jacks, who cost Rs 3.2 crore.

The team generally did quite well, although on paper there’s work to be done. They have to come up with a new, consistent identity while ridding themselves of their underachievers’ tag.

Kohli and Faf Du Plessis are currently expected to open the innings for the 16th edition of the game in IPL. The two players have performed well in previous tournaments, supporting them to gain more fans in the upcoming game.
