Why is bringing Nate Diaz into the ring a black eye for boxing?
Nate Diaz was doing something terrible in 2013 which unfortunately won't be the last time.
Nate Diaz used a homophobic slur on Twitter and it was so bad.
Following this tweet, the UFC also suspended Diaz for 90 days and fined him $20,000.
"UFC Lightweight Nate Diaz is immediately suspended for 90 days and fined $20,000 for violating the UFC's Fighter Code of Conduct," the UFC said in a statement.
The language used in Diaz's tweet was deplorable, offensive and inconsistent with the organization's values and culture.
The UFC stated that this would not be tolerated and that the fine money would be donated to charity.
Nate Diaz took the suspension seriously and changed his ways.
Diaz said that this would never happen again and that he was deeply sorry. He grew, learned and became a better person.
