The superstar striker's only goal in open play of the tournament was the equalizer against England in Wednesday's semi-final.
Kerr fell to the ground in defeat after Alessia Russo made it 3–1 for England in the final minutes.
Australia's magical innings as co-hosts of the World Cup brought an end to the championship game.
"The only thing I feel right now is disappointment," Kerr said.

Despite the appreciation the team received for making it to the semi-finals, it felt the country's disappointment.
