Sam Kerr scored but Australia lost to England.

In the Women's World Cup 2023, England defeated Australia and made it to the finals.

It took five games and 62 minutes for Sam Kerr to finally make a mark in the Women's World Cup.

The superstar striker's only goal in open play of the tournament was the equalizer against England in Wednesday's semi-final.

Kerr fell to the ground in defeat after Alessia Russo made it 3–1 for England in the final minutes.

Australia's magical innings as co-hosts of the World Cup brought an end to the championship game.

"The only thing I feel right now is disappointment," Kerr said.

Sam Kerr said that "after we scored it felt like it was going to be a really great match to watch."

Despite the appreciation the team received for making it to the semi-finals, it felt the country's disappointment.
