Lindsay Horan has slammed criticism of former teammate Carli Lloyd at the Women's World Cup as 'noise'.

Co-captain Lindsey Horan dismissed criticism from former teammate-turned-pundit Carli Lloyd.

Carli Lloyd dismissed criticism in the United States as extraneous noise.

Lloyd called his former team "disappointing".

Lloyd criticized the players for dancing and laughing with fans after the match in Auckland on Tuesday.

Lloyd said, “I've never seen anything like it. There's a difference between showing respect to fans and saying hello to your family.

Lloyd remarked in part "I was too critical of the team last night."

So criticism aimed at the team is essentially just noise, Horan said.

Horan said. "I always want to defend my team and say, 'You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.'
