Colts running back Jonathan Taylor requests trade

A back-and-forth battle between Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts ended with Taylor requesting a trade from the franchise.

A person with direct knowledge of the trade request told the media on condition of anonymity.

Because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

Taylor, the 2021 rushing champion, made the request after meeting with Colts owner Jim Irsay on Saturday.

Frustration mounted for Taylor as he entered the final year of his rookie contract in search of a new deal.

In the midst of an ongoing conversation about back wages, Irsay resorted to X.

ISRE said that “we have negotiated a CBA which took years of effort and hard work and a compromise in good faith by both the parties.”

This caught the attention of Taylor's agent, Malki Kawa of First Round Management.
