Austin Peay freshman defensive back dies after car accident
Austin Peay freshman football player Jeremiah Collins died in a car accident on Friday.
Police and the school provided information on the death of player Jeremiah Collins.
According to police, Collins was driving a 2004 GMC Canyon pickup truck at a high speed near the Austin Beverage Complex in Clarksville, Tennessee.
His vehicle then went off the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop in a grassy area.
After the road accident, Collins was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
Police said that there were no signs of any damage at the scene.
Austin Peay announced Collins' death on July 22.
Head football coach Scott Walden said that “Jeremiah was an outstanding young man who brought an incredible attitude and energy to every day. We join the Collins family in mourning their tragic loss."
