Aaron Rodgers takes nearly $35 million pay cut in new deal

The New York Jets have renegotiated the contract of their prized offseason acquisition, quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers has reportedly agreed to a two-year, fully guaranteed $75 million contract.

Rogers' contract with the New York Jets will run through the 2024 season.

The move to the New York Jets equates to a salary cut of approximately $35 million.

According to NFL Network, the deal also included a no-franchise-tag clause and a no-trade clause.

On Wednesday, after the team's training camp practice, Rodgers confirmed the agreement.

According to ESPN, Rodgers said that "the team just gave up important parts for a one-year deal."

Rogers is a four-time AP Most Valuable Player Award winner and a 10-time Pro Bowler.
