When is the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw?

The draw will take place in Switzerland on Monday, December 13 at 4:30 pm Indian Standard Time.

The draw will be telecast on the Sony Sports Network’s channel and Sony Liv app.

No teams from the same country can face each other in the UEFA Champions League round-of-16. Ties take place over two legs, with seeded teams at home in the second legs.

New knockout rules from the 2021-22 season

Starting this season, the “away-goals” rule has been removed so the knockout games which will be tied on equal score after two legs of 90 minute games irrespective of home or away goals, will play an additional 30 minutes of extra-time followed by a penalty shootout if the scores are level.

When is the Champions League round-of-16 scheduled to start?

The last-16 teams will face off on 15/16/22/23 February, with the second legs on 8/9/15/16 March. Kick-offs are at 1:30am Indian Standard Time.

The draws for the quarter-final and semi-final will be held on March 18.

When is the Champions League final?

Saint Petersburg’s Gazprom Arena will be the venue for the final of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League on 28 May 2022.
