Today is a big day for India, as Ind vs South Africa ICC world cup match and today being Virat Kohli’s birthday Celebration. Fans are equally excited for both. There is a big birthday treat planned for Indian cricket star Virat Kohli by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). The star batter turns 35 on November 5, which also happens to be the day that India plays South Africa in a much-anticipated World Cup match at Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens. The CAB is going all out to celebrate Virat Kohli’s birthday in style because of this one-of-a-kind event.
Different Plans Due to Limits on Regulations for Ind Vs South Africa
The CAB had big plans for Kohli’s birthday at first, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) told them they couldn’t do everything they wanted to. The governing bodies were worried that the extravagant parties might get in the way of the World Cup broadcaster’s marketing plans.
The CAB came up with a different plan, not bothered by these limitations. Their answer? A golden bat is a one-of-a-kind gift for “King Kohli.” This golden bat was made just for Virat Kohli as a way to show their respect for the cricket star.
Face masks and fireworks for Kohli’s Bday: Dreams that didn’t come true
The CAB’s original plan also called for giving away 70,000 face masks with Kohli’s face on them and setting up a spectacular fireworks show. However, because rights were not given, these plans had to be shelved.
The main worry seemed to be that Kohli’s birthday party might be a conflict of interest for the BCCI, since the party might have marketing effects on the World Cup’s television sponsors. Because of this, the Indian Cricket Council was careful, taking into account the needs of their sponsors when deciding whether to allow celebrations.
Even with these limits, there will still be a small light and sound show before the game starts to keep people entertained.
Rahul Dravid’s First Game as Head Coach and a Look at Eden Gardens
While everyone is focused on Virat Kohli’s birthday and the upcoming match against South Africa, there is another exciting start to look forward to. Rahul Dravid, who was just named head coach of the Indian cricket team, will ring the bell to start the game at the famous Eden Gardens.
The fans are really excited for the KING Kohli’s bday celebration on group on the occasion of IND VS South Africa at Eden Garden in Kolkata. WIth a capacity of more than 60k, the stadium is all house full and its going to be a loud cheer for Kohli and for India. With the CAB’s gesture of gifting him with a Golden Bat, it is going to be a like an icing on the cake accompanied with a light and sound show.
